Las Vegas, CES 2026 (January 8, 2026) — Orbbec launched two new Gemini stereo 3D cameras at CES 2026: the ultra-compact Gemini 305 and the industrial-grade Gemini 345Lg, and announced full NVIDIA Jetson Thor compatibility for the Gemini 330 series.

Gemini 305: Wrist-Mounted 3D Vision for Robotic Arms

The Gemini 305 is purpose-built for robotic wrist mounting, delivering unprecedented precision in an ultra-compact form factor. Its core technology breakthrough lies in independent color and depth resolution configuration. In conventional architectures constrained by ISP performance, color and depth streams must share the same resolution. The Gemini 305, through Orbbec’s proprietary innovation, allows each data stream to be independently configured while maintaining spatial and temporal alignment.

Key Specifications:

  • Minimum Imaging Distance: 4cm (reducing the perception blind zone by 43%)
  • Depth Field of View: 88°×65°
  • Operating Modes: One-touch switching between “Depth + Color” and “Dual RGB” data streams
  • Target Applications: Collaborative robot small-part recognition, flexible grasping, humanoid robot hand manipulation

Orbbec VP of Sales Mike McSweeney stated: “The Gemini 305 compresses the minimum imaging distance to 4cm, combined with an 88°×65° wide FOV. This close-range + wide-angle combination dramatically expands the perception envelope for precision manipulation tasks.”

Gemini 345Lg: Outdoor-Grade Industrial 3D Vision

The Gemini 345Lg is a high-durability stereo vision camera designed for outdoor robots and harsh environments:

  • Ingress Protection: IP67
  • Operating Temperature: -20°C to 65°C
  • Lighting Adaptability: Stable depth output from pitch-dark night to intense sunlight exceeding 100,000 lux
  • Target Applications: Commercial lawnmower robots, inspection robots, outdoor logistics vehicles

Jetson Thor Platform Synergy

Orbbec announced that the Gemini 330 series has completed full system-level adaptation and validation with the NVIDIA Jetson Thor computing platform. Robot manufacturers can fully leverage Thor’s high-speed sensor processing capabilities while flexibly adopting diverse carrier board solutions from NVIDIA ecosystem partners, achieving end-to-end optimization from high-quality 3D perception to powerful AI inference.

Dr. Wei Li, head of Orbbec Robotics Products, stated: “NVIDIA Jetson Thor’s powerful AI computing needs equally powerful, high-quality visual data as fuel. The deep synergy between the Gemini series and the Thor platform provides a complete visual computing pipeline from perception to decision-making for embodied intelligence applications.”
